Our Story
Two friends, one promise: pay it forward
LymeWise exists because someone helped us when we were at our lowest — and asked only that we do the same for others.
How it started
Josh Lindorf was diagnosed with Lyme disease as a teenager, after a long stretch of physical symptoms left him struggling to get out of bed. He wasn't the first in his family — his brother had been diagnosed a little while before, after severe symptoms of his own. That experience led Josh's father to become an expert on Lyme disease, learning everything he could to help his sons.
Ethan Peterson met Josh as a freshman-year college roommate. Ethan had spent years battling depression, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, and a host of other symptoms without answers. Recognizing the pattern, Josh and his dad helped Ethan finally get diagnosed with Lyme disease.
“When we're right, we just expect you to pay it forward.”
Paying it forward, together
Ever since, Ethan and Josh have been doing exactly that. They ran a fundraiser that raised over $10,000 for Ethan's Lyme data project. They've helped dozens of people get diagnosed and find the care they deserve.
LymeWise is the next step: taking everything they've learned and everyone they've helped, and building a place that can help thousands more. A calm, modern, trustworthy resource for anyone who has Lyme — or wonders if they might.
What we believe
- You deserve to be believed. Your symptoms are real, even when tests are ambiguous.
- Knowledge should be free. No gatekeeping, no paywalls on the information that could change your life.
- No one should do this alone. Community and connection are part of healing.
- Real doctors matter. Our tools point you toward professional care, never away from it.
